"They say they have noticed me drawing."
This quote isn't stuck in my head that much but I think it does mean something. Melinda is always saying how parents never notice their child, what they may be feeling, they always say that their child is fine, they don't care. But when Melinda got her Christmas present from her parents. A sketch packet thing, her parents said they noticed her drawing. They noticed. Melinda thought she could spill everything out because it seems as if her parents are finally looking after her and noticing what's going on. But Melinda was too speechless to say anything. After that day, everything became back to normal, it seemed as if that day meant nothing. She never looked back to that, she never mentioned it again. For only that day, she felt as if her parents were finally realizing her.
